The project to build Lehigh’s first MRP manufacturing plant in Europe began in 2017 and is now complete and operational. The plant is located in Murillo del Fruto in Navarra, close to the important commercial and transportation hubs of Barcelona and Bilbao. The production unit is on the same site as Indugarbi NFUs, a tire recycler owned by Hera providing an optimized source of feedstock for the MRP manufacturing line.

Lehigh Technologies first manufacturing plant in the US, located in Tucker, GA, has been exporting our PolyDyne™ and MicroDyne™ product range for many years – serving customers in our major markets around the globe. In 2015 we opened Lehigh Spain, followed in 2016 by the announcement of a joint-venture with Hera Holdings.  Over the past few years our market development team has grown our presence in the important European market. Lehigh now serves customers in more than ten countries across the region, which includes Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

As demand increases the site can be expanded to accommodate additional production lines. In order to provide the same product ranges to our global customers the equipment, the feedstock and the process is the same as in the Tucker plant.

Over the years of market development work in Europe it is clear that the value proposition for using Micronized Rubber Powders in high performance applications is aligned with our customer’s targets of lowering costs, delivering performance and improving the sustainability profile of their products.

Lehigh has played a leadership role in Europe in order to promote our product range, provide technical support and guidance on how to use MRP in different end-use formulations. Whether presenting at Tire industry conferences or participating in events to promote the Circular Economy, with the opening of the Spain plant you can expect the Lehigh team to be even more visible!
